The expanded Macao Grand Prix Museum is during March in a trial phase of partial operations, following construction work.

From April, members of the public will be able to visit the museum by prior appointment. The aim of that phase is to solicit wider feedback from locals and visitors to the city, in preparation for the museum’s official relaunch.

After remodelling work, the museum now consists of four floors amounting to approximately 16,000 square metres, sixfold the space available previously.

The museum’s ground floor has a themed zone commemorating the winner of the first Macau Grand Prix. Another zone, located in the basement, sheds light on some of the races held during the annual meeting: the Macau GT Cup and the Guia Race.

There is a memory lane at the museum, displaying posters produced for various editions of the Macau Grand Prix.

Members of the public are invited to go for a fast and thrilling spin around the renowned Guia Circuit via a simulator game, which also features 3D projection mapping.

On the first floor of the museum, there are exhibits of formula-type racing cars that have competed in previous editions of the Macau Grand Prix and other Formula 3 meetings.

The second floor puts the spotlight on the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix, with a display featuring a disassembled machine, and a virtual-reality exhibit about motorcycle racing.

The museum is newly equipped with multimedia interactive facilities and a racing-scenario display, lifting visitors’experience of the facility to a new level in terms of fun that is also educational.

The remodelling of the museum has an emphasis on widening accessibility for the public. It includes design features to help disabled visitors, integrated into an offer designed to provide a quality experience for all.
