  • Recreation facilities and parks managed by the Municipal Affairs Bureau reopened to the public in late February following a pause to address concerns that COVID-19 could be spread within the local community if people had gathered in those places.

  • To enter Macao’s parks, members of the public have to undergo a body-temperature check, wear a protective face mask and give a declaration on the status of their health. Visiting members of the public are also advised to maintain appropriate social distancing and avoid crowding together.

  • During the early stage of the novel coronavirus alert, most people stayed at home in line with efforts to curb the disease from spreading. Thanks to stability locally regarding the COVID-19 situation, more Macao people are now seen visiting parks in order to enjoy the sunny weather.

  • In Lou Lim Ioc Garden, people are observed practising tai chi, while others rehearse Chinese-opera songs.

  • The reopening of parks does not mean the epidemic-control effort has been relaxed. Members of the public are urged to pay close attention to hygiene maintenance and take the Government’s advice regarding disease control and prevention, in order that the community can fight in unity against the COVID-19 pandemic.
