Tropical storm "Nangka" (2016) is expected to continuously move in a west-northwest direction across Hainan Island. As “Nangka” is moving away, the weather in Macao becomes mainly under the influence of the northeast monsoon, the wind speed on the bridges, open areas, and high ground will maintain strong wind level with gusts today, and therefore SMG will cancel all Tropical Cyclone Warning Signals and issue Strong Monsoon Signal instead.
Under the continuous influence of the outer circulation rain bands of “Nangka”, there will still be occasional showers and force 5 to 7 easterly winds with gusts in Macao. Furthermore, affecting by astronomical tide together with strong winds, Flooding is expected in the Inner Harbour areas between 04:00 and 09:00 on 14th. The highest flooding level will be below 0.3m. The public are advised to stay alert against severe weather, strong winds and flooding, and pay close attention to the latest weather news of SMG.
