The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, will tomorrow (Wednesday) lead a Government delegation to Jiangsu Province, in order to review the progress of development plans for the Jiangsu-Macao Cooperation Park.

During his two-day visit, Mr Chui will meet leading Jiangsu officials to discuss further cooperation initiatives between the two places and to exchange views on the overall planning and construction of the Jiangsu-Macao Cooperation Park.

The Government delegation will visit Changzhou Prefecture, Jiangsu, with the aim of selecting a site for construction of the Jiangsu-Macao Cooperation Park.

Members of the Government delegation will include: the Chief-of-Office of the Chief Executive’s Office, Ms O Lam; the Director of the Government Information Bureau, Mr Chan Chi Ping; the Director of the Protocol, Public Relations and External Affairs Office, Ms Lei Ut Mui; and the Director of the Policy Research and Regional Development Bureau, Mr Mi Jian.

During Mr Chui’s absence, the Secretary for Administration and Justice, Ms Chan Hoi Fan, will take the role of Acting Chief Executive.

In April, the Chief Executive met with the Governor of Jiangsu Province, Mr Wu Zhenglong, while the latter was on a visit to Macao. During that meeting, the two sides agreed to: press ahead with research and planning for the Jiangsu-Macao Cooperation Park; strengthen regional cooperation between Macao and cities covered by the Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone; and use Macao as a platform jointly to explore markets in Portuguese-speaking countries.
