The Chief-of-Cabinet of the Office of the Chief Executive, Ho Veng On, is scheduled to leave for Guangzhou tomorrow (6 June) to attend the Macao-Guangdong Cooperation Liaison Group joint meeting to be held in Guangzhou.

Mr. Ho and the 20 delegates from several governmental departments will visit various locations in Guangzhou on 7 and 8 June.

The Liaison Group, which is an organization for the cooperation between Macao and Guangdong, is a directorate working directly under the chief executives of the two areas. Regular meetings concerning finances, infrastructure, environmental protection, education, culture and technology are held periodically.

The Liaison Group joint meeting is held at least once a year in Guangdong or Macao alternatively.

The first Liaison Group joint meeting was held on 25 May 2001.
