At the invitation of the Ministry of Health, the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Chui Sai On, is to attend a health meeting in Beijing sponsored by the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao from 4 to 6 June.

Mr. Chui will head a delegation including the director of the Health Bureau, Kui Kuok Ieng, the director of the Hospital Conde de S. Januario, Lei Chin Ion, and the director of the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Tong Ka Io.

During the three-day meeting, topics such as the reformation of medical organizations, health development of the community, disease control, the effects on health services following the accession of China to the WTO, and the development of Chinese medicine will be discussed.

Several agreements have been signed with the Ministry of Health so as to promote cooperation in the health sector.

Mr. Chui was also scheduled to visit the Ministry of Education on 7 June to exchange opinions on the cooperation of primary education and youth affairs.
