Macao attended 7th Plenary Meeting of Asian Ombudsmen

A delegation headed by the Commissioner Against Corruption, Cheong U, attended the 7th Plenary Meeting of the Asian Ombudsmen Association held in Beijing from 22 - 24 May.

The theme of the meeting was effective monitoring and the promotion of a clean administration. Delegates from 19 countries and regions addressed issues including the fight against corruption, improvement in the public administration and international exchange and cooperation.

Vice-president Hu Jintao delivered a speech during the opening ceremony of the meeting.

The MSAR Commission Against Corruption, as a member of the Asian Ombudsmen Association's administrative board, will host the board meeting next year in Macao, before the 8th plenary meeting which is scheduled to take place in South Korea in 2004.
