The Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Chui Sai On, amplified today (20 May) the government's determination in perfecting professional training and combating unlawful activities in tourism industry.
Mr. Chui hosted a meeting with representatives from several government departments and tourism associations to discuss recent issues in the tourism sector.
Mr. Chui said after the meeting that satisfying results was reached in recent operations involving various government departments in combating unlawful activities that disturb the healthy development of local tourism.
Furthermore, he stated that tailor-made programs had been established to provide training for people with different academic qualification to join the profession of tourist guides.
Mr. Chui said that opinions on certain legislation regarding tourism had been discussed during the meeting, adding that those opinions would be reviewed by legal experts.
