  • The Macao Government Tourism Office is hosting the “Light up Macao 2024” festival as part of the city’s “tourism + events” promotional strategy. Members of the public are welcome to enjoy – until 28 February – a collection of city-wide light installations and video mapping shows, transforming Macao into a vibrant canvas of lights that transcends time and space.

  • This latest edition, themed “Symphony of Time and Space”, features six sub-themes and spans six city districts, each showcasing unique installations and video mapping shows. Here the picture shows the art installation “Crab Baby” at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre.

  • Do you want to listen to the sounds of dolphins and whales? Through the interactive installation available at the White Tent by Nam Van Lake, visitors can enjoy special sound effects played through a touch device, creating a perfect sensory experience of sound and light.

  • The “Starlight Theater” light installation in the Northern District offers an escape into glittering stars and brilliant auroras.

  • The “Glowing Citadel” interactive installation, near the Leisure Area on Avenida Marginal do Lam Mau, is filled with dreamy, fantasy-like lights. A gentle tap on the installation generates a special effect.

  • An interactive installation at Lilau Square features special lamp posts that project light images of iconic Macao landmarks.

  • A pink installation on the ground floor of Barra Public Transport Interchange Square gives visitors a feeling of walking through a time tunnel.

  • A themed video mapping show is projected on the façade of the Macao Science Center from 7pm to 9.30pm every night. Each show lasts 5 minutes, with a new session every 30 minutes.

  • There’s also an exquisite video mapping show available at the Largo dos Bombeiros, projected on the façade of the Cozinha Pinocchio restaurant. After taking photos of the performance, visitors can collect exclusive souvenirs available at a nearby information booth.

  • The “Light up Macao 2024” festival is illuminating the nights of Macao, helping to boost community tourism and the evening economy, while further enriching Macao’s offerings as a world centre of tourism and leisure. The event ends next week, so seize the opportunity to enjoy the unique charm of this dazzling light display.
