  • Macao is full of energy as the city passionately celebrates the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Bustling Senado Square is adorned with a magnificent sea of the country’s flags, to mark National Day.

  • A large-scale arch decoration at Senado Square is one of the important symbols of National Day celebrations.

  • Passers-by stride out beneath a canopy of ‘Chinese red’ on a pedestrian footbridge. The display represents citizens’ pride in the achievements of the nation.

  • The country’s flag and the regional flag of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) fly at the Government Headquarters, complemented by numerous other national flags displayed at street level to mark National Day.

  • Looking from Taipa towards Hengqin, a row of national flags can be seen flying vigorously, marking the National Day celebration. The gesture recognises the strong support from the Central Government for Macao's work in promoting the construction of the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.

  • National Day celebrations are not only in red, but also take a ‘green’ form, telling the successful story of the People’s Republic of China since its founding 75 years ago.

  • Roundabouts across the city are some of the best places to see displays of fluttering red flags.

  • Banners on lampposts in the bustling city centre catch the public’s eye amid Macao’s colourful festivities to celebrate National Day.

  • The large “dual celebrations” poster at the Macao Science Center marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of the Macao Special Administrative Region. The poster offers the opportunity for children approaching the Macao Science Center – in their search for scientific knowledge – to understand better the meaning of the patriotic spirit.

  • The harmonious blend of Macao’s cultural heritage is on show amid the festive National Day atmosphere at the Ruins of St. Paul's.

  • Lights illuminate and candles blaze, in a show of Chinese resplendence. We wish our motherland even greater prosperity as well as stability!
