The “2026 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition” (2026MIECF) will further optimise the layout of its Green Showcase by setting up three industry‑oriented themed zones, namely the “Zero‑waste Circular Economy Exhibition Zone”, the “Green Mobility Zone” and the “Green and Low‑carbon Project Zone”. These zones will enable exhibitors and traders to explore, in an immersive way, new opportunities brought by global innovation in environmental technologies and projects, ranging from the circular economy and waste management to green buildings, thereby supporting zero‑waste city development and accelerating green economic growth.
Showcasing cutting‑edge environmental information and business opportunities worldwide, and integrating green technologies to drive industrial upgrading
This year’s Green Showcase will cover an area of 12,000 square metres. The newly established “Zero‑waste Circular Economy Exhibition Zone” will showcase the latest achievements in waste management, resource recycling, zero‑waste innovation and green building. In support of the Macao SAR Government’s policy to promote eco‑friendly vehicles, the “Green Mobility Zone” will focus on new energy vehicles, charging infrastructure, and green mobility solutions. The “Green and Low‑carbon Project Zone” will be dedicated to presenting carbon‑neutrality strategies, ESG (environmental, social and governance) initiatives and green investment case studies, giving further impetus to green innovation and industrial upgrading.
The exhibition will feature a concentrated showcase of innovative green technologies and applications closely related to different industries and people’s daily lives. These will include the world’s first‑of‑its‑kind carbon capture partition, carbon‑sequestration autoclaved aerated concrete technology adopted by the Chinese mainland’s first zero‑carbon flagship fast‑food chain, Macao’s first dry‑process pulp recycling system, eco‑friendly antibacterial meal boxes made from rice husks, and Macao’s first second‑hand trading platform. While supporting high‑quality and sustainable industrial development, these examples will also enrich scenarios for green technology applications in everyday life.
International exhibitors and traders projected to surpass last year’s level, forging more green co‑operation opportunities
This year’s MIECF will continue to deepen environmental exchanges at regional and international levels. It will bring together international energy giants from the Fortune Global 500, leading environmental enterprises from the Chinese mainland, environmental organisations from Portuguese‑speaking countries, top technology companies and renowned brands from various countries and regions. The number of international exhibitors and buyers is expected to exceed last year’s figures, enabling participants from home and abroad to foster more opportunities for green co‑operation.
Hosted by the Macao Special Administrative Region Government under the theme “Low‑carbon and Zero Waste Cities: Embarking on a Global Collaboration”, the 2026MIECF will take place from 26 to 28 March 2026 (Thursday to Saturday) at the Cotai Expo, The Venetian Macao. To further promote green exchange and collaboration, a series of concurrent activities will be held during the exhibition period, including the “2nd Global Carbon Credit Market Development Forum”, themed business matching sessions, green roadshows and green workshops, creating a platform connecting participants with the latest environmental information and green business opportunities worldwide.
