In order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the inscription of the “Historic Centre of Macao” on the World Heritage List, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) will host a series of exciting activities from July to December. One of the highlights, the activity “World Heritage Stamp Tour”, will be launched on 12 July, with limited collection booklets provided by IC and commemorative stamps featuring 22 World Heritage buildings. Residents and visitors are invited to explore the Historic Centre of Macao and collect these exquisite commemorative stamps, creating cherished memories of the 20th anniversary of the inscription of the “Historic Centre of Macao” on the World Heritage List.
The activity “World Heritage Stamp Tour” will be held from 12 July to 31 December (lucky draw will start on 15 July). IC has specially produced commemorative stamps for the 22 World Heritage buildings. Designed by local illustrator Yolanda Kog, who won awards in two categories at the 2025 BIBF International Illustration Award, the stamps capture the city’s landscape with the artistic lines, with the aim of evoking the pleasant memories of residents in their growth with the heritage buildings. The commemorative stamps are placed across 22 World Heritage buildings in the “Historic Centre of Macao”, with each stamp representing one scenic attraction. This will allow the public to explore the Historic Centre of Macao once again, strengthen the connection between the heritage sites and their daily lives, and explore the multifaceted values and rich connotations of these places. Participants can use their personal stamp collection booklets or the activity stamp booklets provided by IC to collect the stamps. With four or more stamps collected in the tour, they can participate in a lucky draw from 15 July at several locations, namely at Lou Kau Mansion, the Mandarin’s House, Ruins of St. Paul’s, Guia Fortress and the Centre for the Preservation and Transmission of Cultural Heritage of the Palace Museum in Macao. Free activity stamp booklets can be also obtained at the abovementioned locations. Souvenirs and activity stamp booklets are limited, and distribution is made on a first-come, first-served basis.
