Shun Tak-China Travel Ship Management (Macau) Limited will start to operate sightseeing cruises between the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal and Barra Pier from May 30, 2025 onwards. The route is the first cruise route to use the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal for embarkation and disembarkation.

During the initial phase of operation, the cruise route will offer one round-trip daily, with a travel time of around 25 minutes. The sailing from the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal to Barra Pier departs at 10:30 a.m. whereas the one from the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal to Barra Pier departs at 5:00 p.m. For information on sailing schedule and ticketing, please contact the ferry operator.

After the Marine and Water Bureau (DSAMA) received the application for operating a cruise route between the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal and Barra Pier from the Shun Tak-China Travel Ship Management (Macau) Limited, DSAMA expedited the approval process of the route permit and assisted the ferry operator in completing a series of preparatory work.

In order to enhance the infrastructure for sightseeing cruises, DSAMA has been continuously upgrading the hardware and software facilities at existing terminals and piers, and encourage the ferry operators and integrated resort enterprises to develop more cruise routes for residents and tourists. The space optimisation project at the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal was completed in the fourth quarter of 2024, enabling the Ferry Terminal to handle passenger boarding and disembarkation for sightseeing cruises. This enhancement enables the operators to use more piers for cruise operations, enrich cruise routes, and offer a wider range of marine tourism products for locals and visitors alike.
