With the valuable opportunity brought by the Macao Week in Chongqing, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) led a travel trade delegation from Macao to hold the Macao tourism presentation seminar in Chongqing today (2 December) to present the strengths of Macao’s tourism industry and facilitate networking among industry delegates from both sides, while raising Macao’s profile as a safe and glamorous destination.
MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, and Party Committee member and Deputy Director of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, Qin Dingbo, attended the presentation seminar together with other personages and about 50 members of the travel trade from Chongqing and Macao.
Director Senna Fernandes expressed that by organizing the seminar, the Office sought to familiarize the travel trade in Chongqing with Macao’s diverse dimensions of “tourism +”. She hopes that the seminar can serve as a platform for industry operators from both sides to explore new potential for cooperation and launch more new tourism products and services to boost mutual visitations. She believes that with Macao’s new prospect ahead, a wealth of opportunities will be in store for the two cities to forge closer cooperation in tourism and other areas.
For tourism authorities, travel trade and media in Chongqing, MGTO presented an overview of Macao’s latest tourism situation, recent calendar of mega events as well as new tourism products including the Macao Grand Prix Museum, Macao Highlight Tour, “Macao Full of Fun – Smart Trip Planner”, Travel Stimulation Program and more, in the hope that industry operators in Chongqing can gain a deeper understanding of Macao’s diverse elements of “tourism +”. The seminar also featured a business matching and networking session, facilitating exchange and cooperation between tourism industry delegates from Macao and Chongqing.
Besides organizing an array of Macao tourism presentation seminars at the Macao Weeks in Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai and Chengdu this year, MGTO also rolled out a range of physical initiatives to promote the destination in various cities across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area concurrently. By organizing presentation seminars, business matching and networking sessions among other initiatives, the Office strives to enhance tourism exchange and collaboration with other Mainland provinces and cities, joining hands with its counterparts to expand the spectrum of visitor source.
