The Macao SAR Government continues to meet the daily needs of the residents in enclosed zones based on its public health and epidemic prevention measures, with the Subsistence Team maintaining the services of meal provision, daily necessities delivery and domestic waste collection in the enclosed Red and Yellow Code Zones. To conduct civil protection against typhoon as Tropical Cyclone “Kompasu” is approaching Macao, each of the residents in the Red and Yellow Code Zones will be provided with a two-day portion emergency food pack today (October 12), as a replacement for the hot boxed meals for the dinner today and the all-day meals tomorrow.

According to the Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG), there will be frequent heavy showers and thunderstorms, and the winds may reach wind force level 8, with gusts, under the influence of the severe Tropical Cyclone “Kompasu” during the typhoon period. For public safety, the Subsistence Team will relocate the open-air tents and temporary facilities currently located in the enclosed zones, and will suspend the services of hot meal provision, daily necessities delivery and domestic waste collection tomorrow (October 13). Notices on the relevant arrangements have been made to the residents in the enclosed Red and Yellow Code Zones through SMS messages and leaflets. The Subsistence Team will closely monitor the weather changes in Macao and resume hot meal provision when conditions permit. The residents in the enclosed zone will be notified of any further arrangements through SMS messages. The authorities appreciate the understanding of the residents in the zones.
