Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that licensed motor vehicles in Macao totalled 244,110 as at end-2020, up by 1.4% year-on-year. Light automobiles (111,369) and heavy motorcycles (102,901) grew by 1.6% and 3.1% year-on-year respectively, whereas light motorcycles (22,505) dropped by 6.3%. New registration of motor vehicles in December 2020 rose by 12.1% year-on-year to 1,197. For the whole year of 2020, new registration of motor vehicles inched down by 0.3% year-on-year to 12,380, with that of light automobiles (5,028) falling by 7.3% while that of heavy motorcycles (6,902) increasing by 7.7%. Number of traffic accidents in December totalled 1,016, which involved 352 injuries. In 2020, there were 10,194 traffic accidents that caused 5 deaths and 3,589 injuries.

Cross-border vehicular traffic in December decreased by 22.1% year-on-year to 361,842 trips. In 2020, cross-border vehicular traffic fell by 53.0% year-on-year to 2,517,052 trips, of which light automobile trips (2,183,175) and heavy truck trips (298,314) dropped by 53.8% and 12.4% respectively. Meanwhile, gross weight of containerized cargo by land in December grew by 24.4% year-on-year to 3,289 tonnes. In 2020, gross weight of containerized cargo by land increased by 31.7% year-on-year to 28,355 tonnes; cargo passing through the Checkpoint of the Macao Port Zone of Hengqin Port (14,245 tonnes) and the Checkpoint of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (13,627 tonnes) accounted for 50.2% and 48.1% of the total respectively.

Gross weight of port containerized cargo grew by 23.1% year-on-year to 13,503 tonnes in December. For the whole year of 2020, gross weight of port containerized cargo shrank by 17.1% year-on-year to 121,260 tonnes; cargo being handled at the Ká-Hó Harbour tumbled by 61.7% to 26,866 tonnes (22.2% of total), whereas that being shipped through the Inner Harbour rose by 24.0% to 94,394 tonnes (77.8%).

Arriving and departing commercial flights totalled 1,117 trips in December and 13,676 trips in 2020, representing year-on-year decline of 82.9% and 81.4% respectively. Air cargo in December amounted to 4,432 tonnes, down slightly by 0.8% year-on-year. In 2020, air cargo went down by 21.1% year-on-year to 33,296 tonnes; gross weight of outward cargo (28,194 tonnes), inward cargo (3,694 tonnes) and transit cargo (1,408 tonnes) fell by 4.6%, 48.8% and 74.1% respectively.

As at the end of December 2020, there were 107,340 fixed-line telephone subscribers, a drop of 7.8% year-on-year. Number of mobile phone subscribers decreased by 42.0% year-on-year to 1,621,217, with stored-value GSM card subscribers (788,268) declining by 60.4%. Internet subscribers went up by 7.2% year-on-year to 632,175. In December, the duration of internet usage rose by 6.8% year-on-year to 145 million hours. Total duration of internet usage in 2020 reached 1.65 billion hours, an increase of 4.3% year-on-year.
