To cope with the development of the Novel Coronavirus Infection, the Science and Technology Development Fund (the FDCT) has previously called for research projects related to Novel Coronavirus Infection from universities, research institutions, science and technology enterprises and scientific researchers, and a total of 74 project proposals were received.
The FDCT immediately organized experts to undergo assessment to the projects, after thorough study and evaluation to the professional review opinions, 26 research projects were approved, including 22 university projects and 4 science and technology enterprise projects. The funding amount of each projects was below MOP500,000, research duration ranging from 6 to 12 months. The projects mainly focus on the rapid detection and diagnosis technology, special efficacy Chinese and Western medicine research and development, information technology applied to temperature detection, disinfection robot, prevention and control measures for infectious diseases, etc. The approved projects have clear objectives, strong practicability and innovation.
The FDCT will follow up the progress of the approved projects closely, promote the application of the research outcomes and strengthen local prevention and control and treatment of new and emerging infectious diseases.
