Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre - In view of the serious outbreaks of novel coronavirus COVID-19 infection in Germany, France, Spain and Japan recently, the Health Bureau requires that with effect from 12:00 on 8^th March 2020, individuals who have travelled to Germany, France, Spain or Japan within the past 14 days prior to their entry into Macao must submit to medical examination in accordance with the stipulation of Article 10 of Law no. 2/2004 – "Law on the Prevention, Control and Treatment of Infectious Diseases”.

According to article 14 of the same law, the Health Bureau requires that with effect from 12:00 on 10^th March 2020, individuals who have travelled to the abovementioned countries within the past 14 days prior to their entry into Macao must, at the discretion of the health authorities, undergo medical observation for 14 days at the designated venue, without prejudice to other epidemic prevention measures of the MSAR Government. In this regard, Macao residents may undergo the medical observation at a domestic venue deemed appropriate by the health authorities, whereas non-Macao residents are placed at a designated hotel at their own expenses.

The earlier announced measure that under article 14 of the same law, individuals have visited South Korea, Italy or Iran within the past 14 days before entry into Macao are required to submit to 14-day medical observation at the designated venue at the discretion of the health authorities continues to be effective.

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre reminds that individuals contravening with the above requirements may be subject to mandatory isolation in addition to corresponding criminal liabilities under the law.
