Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for August - October 2019 decreased by 0.1% over the previous period (July - September 2019) to 267.4. The index for Taipa & Coloane (262.3) dropped by 0.3%, whereas that for the Macao Peninsula (268.6) held steady from the previous period.
The index for existing residential units (288.0) went up by 0.1%, with the indices for those in the Macao Peninsula (282.4) and Taipa & Coloane (312.3) rising by 0.1% and 0.2% respectively. Analysed by year of building completion, the indices for those built in 5 years or less and for those completed between 6 and 10 years ago both fell by 0.5%, whereas the index for those built between 11 and 20 years ago grew by 2.1%. Meanwhile, the index for pre-sale residential units (279.6) decreased by 0.9% from the previous period.
In comparison with August - October 2018, the overall residential property price index and the index for existing residential units fell by 0.5% and 0.8% respectively, whereas the index for pre-sale residential units increased by 2.3%.
