Co-organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macao, the “Exhibition of Members’ Artworks of Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macao 2019” will be inaugurated on Friday, 11 October, at 6:30pm, at the Old Court Building. All are welcome to attend and visit during the exhibition period.
The exhibition features 162 pieces (sets) of Chinese traditional paintings, calligraphies and seal carvings in different genres, including landscapes, flowers, birds, natural features and classic ancient poetry, among others. The artworks are created in various forms and different styles, showing the creative and artistic heritage of the participating members.
The Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macao has been founded for more than 60 years and is the backbone of the local Chinese traditional art field. With the aim of promoting Chinese painting, calligraphy and seal carving, it actively inherits Chinese culture and national quintessence and is supported by a group of predecessors and scholars. Over the years, the association has continued to hold exhibitions, assemblies, overseas exchanges, among other activities, providing a display and appreciation platform for local painting, calligraphy and seal carving aficionados to learn and exchange with each other.
The “Exhibition of Members’ Artworks of Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macao 2019” is held from 12 October to 2 November, and is open from Tuesday to Friday, from 10am to 8pm, including public holidays. Admission is free. Guided tours are available from 3 pm to 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays during the exhibition period. In addition, the organizer also offers guided tours for schools and institutions, upon advanced boking.
