Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, said today that the Government would continue to put more resources into education so as to sustain the city’s new phase development. Mr Chui highly praised for teachers’ dedication and contributions in improving the quality of education when he delivered a speech at a banquet marking the Teacher’s Day 2015. Cultivation of diversified talents and expedite of education development were essential to the city’s new phase of development, especially the transformation to a world centre of tourism and leisure and a commercial and trade co-operation service platform between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries, he said. Mr Chui said teachers were the core of education and the Government would enhance their career development and sense of honour through setting more favouring regulations and policies and by providing more professional training. The Government would also help schools to enhance their facilities, and would continuously put more resources into the long-term mechanisms of education and talents cultivation, special education, vocational education and continuing education, for more qualified education services.
