Consumer Council releases its ‘Macao Fuel Prices Information Platform’ apps for phones running both iOS and Android systems. The app includes the prices and latest discount information of 4 kinds of petrol of the 4 oil brands in Macao, as well as those of household LPG. Calculation function is available within the app to allow consumers to compare fuel prices.

Petrol and LPG are important commodities, the SAR Government directed the ‘Fuel observation team’ to follow up with fuel prices in response to consumers’ requests, Consumer Council therefore launches its ‘Macao Fuel Prices Information Platform’ mobile phone app. The app consists of two individual functions, listing the latest prices and discount information of unleaded, premium, lead substitute petrol, and diesel of the 4 oil brands from 18 petrol stations, as well as those of the 40 LPG retailers in Macao. Moreover, the Council sends out push notification to consumers for newly updated prices.

‘Macao Fuel Prices Information Platform’ app enables consumers to make calculation and comparison by inputting their desired fuel types, expected volume, or expected purchase amount, and the lowest price and location will then be shown. The app also lists out discount information available at different petrol stations. Similar functions are made available for household LPG as well. The Council believes that its ‘Macao Fuel Prices Information Platform’ app not only enhances the transparency of fuel prices in Macao but also helps consumers to make smarter choices.

The Council indicates that it will continue to optimize its app and the related functions so that consumers can make good use of their smart phones to receive the latest and most comprehensive information.

Consumers may now download the ‘Macao Fuel Prices Information Platform’ app for free on the Council’s website, or get it from App Store or Google Play Store. The Portuguese and English versions of the app will also be launched at a later stage, together with the ‘Platform’ section on the Council’s official website.
