Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that both the unemployment rate (1.7%) and the underemployment rate (0.3%) for August-October 2014 held stable as July-September.
Total labour force reached 401,300 and the labour force participation rate increased to 74.2%. Total employment was 394,400, an increase of 2,300 from July-September. Analysed by industry, employment in Gaming rose by 3,100 to 84,600.
Number of the unemployed was 6,900, up slightly by 300 from July-September; fresh labour force entrants searching for their first job accounted for 26.0% of the total unemployed, down by 0.6 percentage points.
In comparison with August-October 2013, the labour force participation rate increased by 1.0 percentage point, while the unemployment rate and the underemployment rate decreased by 0.2 and 0.1 percentage points respectively.
