The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, arrived in Brussels, Belgium, on 9 January (local time) for a visit to the European Union and the country.

Mr Chui visited Macao’s Economic and Trade Office to the European Union in Brussels, accompanied by the office’s director, Mr Raimundo Arrais do Rosário.

In the evening, Mr Chui and his delegation visited the office of the Chinese Mission to the EU, and attended a reception hosted by its Chargé d'Affaires, Mr Wang Hongjian.

Today Mr Chui is scheduled to attend a reception to be hosted by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and European Affairs of Belgium, Mr Didier Reynders, and meet the President of the European Commission, Mr José Manuel Durão Barroso, in the afternoon.
