The Macao Creative Pavilion has generated an enthusiastic response in its inaugural phase, presenting quality displays and enjoying strong sales. The project’s first phase comes to a close on June 30th, with a second phase scheduled to begin on July 5th and continue until September 30th. The Cultural Affairs Bureau as organiser will use the second phase to add cultural elements such as performing arts, animation and handicrafts to the Pavilion’s current offering. Any cultural or creative industry representative interested in exhibiting a product in the Pavilion is required to register before June 3rd.
The Macao Creative Pavilion is located on the first floor of the Tourism and Culture Activity Centre (the yellow house in the Company of Jesus Square, in front of the Ruins of St. Paul’s). Sales in the Pavilion’s first month reached MOP 88,000 and in the second month exceeded MOP 100,000, representing a 34% increase. In order to gather even more marketing data and encourage a broader variety of cultural and creative entities to display and sell products in the Pavilion, the Cultural Affairs Bureau has commenced data collection for the project’s second phase. All local cultural and creative entities interested in participating are invited to submit their data to the Cultural Affairs Bureau’s Database for the Cultural and Creative Industries (DBCCI). Based on the data collected in the DBCCI, the Cultural Affairs Bureau will select outstanding cultural and creative entities to participate in the project and use the space created by the Bureau to display their creative achievements. The Bureau has extended to all cultural and creative entities an open invitation to submit information be registered in the Database. Since last August the Database has accumulated some 140 profiles of companies and associations involved in the local cultural and creative industries. The Bureau has now broadened their invitation to include individuals active in the cultural and creative sector and is currently collecting personal data. All citizens who work in fields including visual arts, design, performing arts, fashion, publishing, pop music, cinema, video and animation are welcome to submit their information.
Entities interested in participating in the second phase of the “Macao Creative Pavilion” can register from today until June 3rd.
