The Vice President, Mr Xi Jinping, visited a youth centre this afternoon and extended his best wishes to Macao’s education and young people.

After meeting representatives of Central Government's agencies and Chinese-funded companies in Macao, Mr Xi visited the Experiential Centre for Young People in the company of the Chief Executive, Mr Edmund Ho Hau Wah.

At the centre, Mr Xi was entertained by young people dancing, children performing gymnastics and children models at a fashion show.

Later, Mr Xi watched young people making silver ornaments, and had a go at polishing the silverwares. He also chatted with some young people learning astronomy.

Mr Xi said that people did not learn from books only and centres such as this could help better nurture the next generation.
