Information from the Statistics and Census Service showed that in the fourth quarter of 2007, construction of 17 new buildings, with an approximate gross floor area of 538,000 m², has been started and upon completion, will together provide 343 building units, 1,619 parking spaces for cars and 54 parking spaces for motorcycles.
In 2007, the gross floor area of the new buildings started totalled 2.2 million m², up by 1.1 times over 2006. After completion, these buildings will together provide 4,390 building units, down by 7.7% over 2006, as well as 7,920 parking spaces for cars and 1,007 parking spaces for motorcycles.
In the fourth quarter of 2007, a total of 14 buildings were completed and the gross floor area totalled 593,000 m², providing 1,173 units, 1,769 parking spaces for cars and 675 parking spaces for motorcycles.
In 2007, the gross floor area of the completed buildings increased by 50.9% over 2006 to 1.93 million m²; the number of building units available dropped by 32.2% to 2,051, comprising 1,856 residential units. The majority of the residential units were three-bedroom units (894) that accounted for 48.2% of the total, and those with four or more bedrooms also shared 32.0% (594 units).
