Republic of Kiribati granted visa-free treatment to Macau SAR passport holders

Republic of Kiribati granted visa-free treatment to Macau SAR passport and SAR Travel Permit holders starting from 4 January this year, it was announced by the government Identification Bureau.

Holders of Macau SAR passport and Macau SAR Travel Permit can stay in the Republic of Kiribati for up to 30 days each time.

In return, the Macau SAR government gave visa-free treatment to Gilbertese passport holders and they can stay in Macau for up to 30 days.

The visa-free entry agreement will be beneficial to further strengthen the trade, culture, and tourism relations between the Republic of Kiribati and the Macau SAR.

Following Singapore, South Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia, Turkey, South Africa Samoa and Egypt, Republic of Kiribati is the ninth country to give visa-free access to Macau SAR passport holders since the founding of the SAR in December 1999.

So far, a total of 65 countries have recognized the passport of the Macau SAR.
