  • Light Up Macao 2025 has officially launched, and runs until 11 January 2026. It illuminates three major parts of the city: the Nam Van area, the Northern District and ZAPE.

  • The light displays are integrated with local elements found in the community. The resulting spectacle aims to promote community-based tourism and the nighttime economy, further enriching Macao’s identity as a world centre of tourism and leisure.

  • A total of 28 light installations featuring interactive and decorative elements has been created by artistic teams drawn from Macao, the Chinese mainland, and overseas.

  • The installations are switched on from 6pm to 10pm every evening during the period of the event. Members of the public can enjoy the lights free of charge.

  • A locally-produced spectacle during Light Up Macao 2025 is a creative 3D mapping show called “Macao Odyssey: The Story Unfolds”. It is projected onto the façade of the Macao Grand Prix Museum, providing a true feast for the eyes.

  • On Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and selected festive days during the event period, a fair featuring 20 food stalls and coffee-themed booths is being staged in ZAPE.

  • At the Waterfront Duet Leisure Area in the Northern District, an installation with arch shapes –inspired by the musical instrument the accordion –features interactive pads at its base. They change the lighting and accompanying music in response to people jumping. Children can create their own musical compositions by simply leaping up and down.

  • The dazzling light displays can be seen citywide, transforming Macao into a vibrant, magical wonderland.

  • Artistic installations with a playful twist not only add cultural charm to their host areas, but also create fun spaces for family interaction.

  • In each area where the installations are located, there are stamping stations or QR-code points. There, people can check in on social media and collect “starlight” tokens, which they can exchange for gifts. Online interactive games with prizes are also available to enhance further the public’s engagement.
