The cross-boundary student shuttle service between Hengqin and Macao is currently in its trial operation phase, catering specifically to Chinese nationals holding a Macao permanent ID card with valid Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents who studying Primary 4 to Senior Secondary 3 and commute across Hengqin and Macao for studies. The service operates through 17 stops designated across Macao peninsula, Taipa, and Coloane, additional to the six stops within the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, including the Macao New Neighbourhood.

The scheme of cross-boundary student shuttle service is an innovative clearance model aims to optimise commuting experiences and alleviate parental transportation burdens.

Each cross-boundary student shuttle is staffed with a professional driver and onboard attendants responsible for boarding and alighting guidance, headcounts, temperature checks, and order maintenance, to ensure the seamless implementation of the “on-board inspection and clearance without alighting from vehicle” protocol.

During the trial operation phase, the cross-boundary student shuttle service operates six routes in morning school hours and two routes in afternoon hours, covering a total of 27 schools in Macao.
