Chief Executive Edmund Ho today (16 July) visited the northern district where a series of public construction projects will be carried out for the purpose of improving living standards.
Accompanied by the Secretary for Transportation and Public Works and the Director of Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau, Mr. Ho visited several public construction sites.
The total cost of the projects, which include a municipal park, a multi-functional health center, a renovation of the sewage system and a traffic monitoring system, will be 120 million patacas.
According to the plans, the Areia Preta Urban Park, which will take eight months to build, will have four playgrounds (28,000 square meters), three stadiums (1,440 square meters), a rest area, open-air squares, and two reading centers for the youngsters.
In addition, a 95-million pataca multi-functional health center will be built. It will accommodate a health center and an elderly center (17,000 square meters) .
Moreover, 13.45 million will be spent on the renovation of the sewage system to help prevent the floods which occur in the northern district during the monsoons. The system is expected to be completed within a year.
