The Secretary for Economy and Finance, Francis Tam, left today (16 May) on a visit to Fuzhou for the 2002 meeting of the Fujian, Hong Kong and Macao Economic Cooperation and Promotion Committee.
Mr. Tam is accompanied a delegation that included officials and local businessmen.
The 2002 meeting of the Fujian, Hong Kong and Macao Economic Cooperation and Promotion Committee was scheduled on 17 May.
Before his departure, Mr. Tam told the media that the purpose of this meeting was to conclude the work started over the past year and how Macao could work as the platform for contacts and cooperation between enterprises in Fujian and Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as promoting tourism between Macao and Fujian.
Mr. Tam also praised the Fujian and Macao Economic Cooperation and Promotion Committee for its contributions in facilitating cooperation between the two regions since the its establishment.
