Special Task force established to prevent spreading of dengue fever

A special task force was established to take prevention against the spreading of dengue fever, said Rita Santos, acting director of the Provisional Municipal Council of Macau.

Members of the task force included representatives of several government departments namely the Health Bureau, The Lands, Public Works and Transports Services, Provisional Municipal Council of Macau, Provisional Municipal Council of the Islands and the Public Security Police Force, said Miss Santos.

she said that a hot line (3993128) has been set for the publics to inform the authority concerning unattended construction sites and empty buildings, adding that the authority will take proper actions accordingly.

In order to facilitate the eradication of mosquitoes, Miss Santos said that the municipalities has carried out cleaning in various locations throughout the SAR, and has cleared 500 tons of debris.

She said that 320 temporary workers would be recruit to treat some 280 unattended construction sites and 183 empty buildings throughout the SAR.
